The legal professional title "Rechtsanwalt" (lawyer) was awarded in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Professional regulations: Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO), Professional Code for Lawyers (BORA), Specialist Lawyers' Act (FAO), Lawyers' Remuneration Act (RVG), Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Union (CCBE). Professional liability insurance: Due to the BRAO, lawyers are obliged to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum insured sum of 250,000 euros. The details result from § 51 BRAO. I am insured with R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG, Raiffeisenplatz 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, www.ruv.de. The geographical scope extends to the member states of the European Union.
Arbitration procedures: The arbitration board of the legal profession exists for arbitration procedures in disputes between lawyers and clients. The Federal Bar Association also offers information on this. In this respect, the permanent consumer arbitration board for financial disputes arising from the client relationship up to a value of €50,000 is the arbitration board of the legal profession, Rauchstraße 26, 10787 Berlin, www.sdr.org. The European Union is strengthening out-of-court dispute resolution by operating a European OS platform that enables independent, impartial, transparent, effective, fast and fair out-of-court online settlement of disputes between consumers and participants and via the link https://ec .europa.eu/comsumers/odr/ can be found. I am not willing to participate in an arbitration procedure before consumer arbitration boards.
Avoidance of conflicts of interest: Lawyers are prohibited from representing conflicting interests due to professional regulations (§ 43a Para. 4 BRAO). Before accepting a mandate, it is therefore always checked whether there is a conflict of interest.
